UG-0663-ARMUS

Description

For simplicity's sake, we shall call this individual a 'he' for purposes of desc
ribing it--Surely 'he' is more masculine than feminine, evidinced by his abnorma
lly broad shoulders--But let us continue. Starting from the bottom, we find a p
air of large, mechanical feet, or at least objects vaguely foot-shaped. They lo
ok more like oversized claws, or grabbers of sorts, refitted to bear a lot of we
ight, but still able to really hold onto whatever surface they're upon. These a
re made from rather dingy, but thick-looking steel. It should be noted that all
steel plates have visible locking bolts in place--An even number in every locat
ion, and expertly spaced.

As we move further up, we find large, powerful looking legs, which appear capabl
e of bending both forward and backward at two different points in a composite, a
nd complicated, kneecap. These are also made of this dingy steel, except for th
e right outside thigh, which appears to have been damaged at one time and has be
en replaced by a few plates of a newer, shinier metal.

As for his waist, one finds that all support struts from the legs to the body, e
ven what appears to be some sort of shock-absorbing system, is all connected to
a central pivoting point, which would appear to allow his body to turn round and
round, if it were not for the wires which connect everything. This central piv
oting point appears to be a shaft composed primarily of mythril, with the occasi
onal vein of something else, although all ve ins are symmetrical, and it appears
as if it were actually crafted this way. He has what appears to be a ribcage,
covering his midsection. Long, curved, pointed bars of metal--Twenty-four in al
l--Cover what appears to be the more delicate machinery that he possesses. Movi
ng parts can be seen here, constantly whirring and occasionally clicking, and ch
anging positions, even when this machine is at a standstill dozens of small oper
ations are taking place. Above this, on his chest plate, is the symbol of the V
enture Company.

His left and his right shoulders are both disctinctly different--His left should
er is smaller and bears a scratched off and faded emblem, the only thing one fin
ds discernable about it now is the color--Blue. Below this is painted in clear,
professional, blocky letters: UG-0663-ARMUS. Beside this is a new symbol--The
symbol of the House Skye, noting that this particular construct may very well ha
ve an affiliation with them. Attatched to this shoulder on the rear, is a long
tubular device with four lines running up it symmetrically. It almost appears t
hat it should fold out, somehow. It is made in such a way to give the impressio
n it might swivel somehow, but only at the shoulder and only allowing it to be o
ver the head or behind the back. In most cases, we find it folded neatly behind
this construct. Upon this forearm we find what appears to be a large device wi
th controls, and several slots where one might insert object, although at this t
ime its' exact function is unclear. The hand attatched to this arm is small, an
d appears to be made for situations where dexterity calls, however the palm is l
arge, and with a metal 'iris' of sorts that keeps a vent upon it closed.

His right shoulder is larger, and has two horizontal rows of four holes, each wi
th a metal iris that closes over it. As what appears to be an attatchment or up
grade of some kind, evidinced by the use of a different sort of metal, there is
a large blade running along this arm, held in place by strategically placed stru
ts. The bladed surface of this is about two feet in length, although its' sharp
ness is unclear. The blade itself is dingy, from lack of care. The forearm of
this arm lacks anything of any particular interest, and the hand is large and bu
lky, with a raised metal spike over each of the three 'knuckles' on this hand, w
hich has two usable fingers, with a semi-opposable 'thumb'.

At the top of his body, surrounded by cables and wiring protected by a metal gra
ting of sorts, we find the 'head' of this creature--Expressionless, mostly, the
only real 'feeling' it seems cabale of expressing is a silent remorse. Four cry
stalline 'eyes', in a diamond pattern, are upon its' head, positioned mostly to
the left, adding to the overall lack of symmetry this construct has. The larges
t is the leftmost, and red, which has a rotating iris around it, which appears t
o bring the crystal into, and out of, focus. Two of the others possess similar
focusing abilities, one of which is blue, and the other is yellow. The last one
is a deep shade of purple, and seems to serve little, or no purpose.

It should be noted, at this point, that Armus lacks any discernable mouth. What
soever. If it does speak, it's uncertain as to how.

Personality

Armus is literally minded, and seems to be almost completely without emotion. It has a
tendancy of being silent when it has nothing to say, and it also has the unfortunate habit
of being bluntly honest. Cold, unfeeling, and brutally honest, Armus can best be described
as 'compliant' if one decides to use a 'nice' word.

History

Created by a Goblin named 'Grimble', Armus was the pinnacle of this particular Engineer's
efforts, the masterpiece of his life. Unfortunately, his life was ended shortly before
Armus's arrival, dying as a result of decapitation from a bandit attack. He activated Armus
only moments too late, and Armus chased the bandits away, but was too slow for the mounted
warriors. It returned, and attempted to 'repair' Its master, but to no avail. Who knew
saudering doesn't work on organic creatures?

Armus, however, continued on his journey, for the purpose of it was to escape prosecution.
The mechanical man is composed of an ancient power core, ancient memory storage and processing
units, ancient hydrolics, an ancient 'spine', and all else is recently crafted by Grimble
himself.

Armus is also uncompleted--It was activated too early, and its field tests haven't been
finished. As a result of this, it has yet to reach even the early stages of its' full
potential. As Armus will willingly tell anyone--"Speech functions are at sev-sev-seventy
percent efficiency." The machine clearly needs to be fine-tuned.

Present Situation

Currently, it is under the care of Nitro, of the Venture Company, and is affiliated with House
Skye. The Governer has put the machine in his care, and has made it his responcibility.
