Building in Highwind Point

Citizens of Highwind Point,

It has come to the attention of the Office of the Governor that there are many people who are
requesting building at this time. It is requested that people keep their buildings small and only
to the necessesities as builing space is at a premium and there are other places those building
materials can be used at.

That being said, I wish to inform the populace of an example of a building request which had been
submitted to the Vizier of Building, and later to the Office of the Governor:

With permission for only a 10 person house granted I will be changing my request in terms of rooms
Though much will not change. It's will be 8 well furnished rooms fit for knights . 2 Lavish rooms
one for herself and one for any guests. 6 general rooms ( bath house , kitchen , rooms for servants
, kitchen , feasting hall , library ) . For special rooms A smithy , A training hall , Storage Room
, Vault , War room , Holding Cell . That plus the sleeping rooms should be enough , the vault and
holding room as well as storage will be in the basement . A bath house for cleaning (Marble). A
study to conduct business . It would be 2 stories with a basement. The kitchen and feasting hall
will be big enough for 20 people then since I may have guests.

As can be seen, this is more lavish than any of the nobles on Highwind Point have built for their
own cluster of families, and this is from a single member of the Merchant caste. This is the
particular request after being told to trim their request down from the original.

It is hoped that the people of Highwind Point will take a fairer head upon their own building requests,
building only what is necessary for themselves and their families. If we overbuild now,
there will not be enough room for those who immigrate here in the future.

Sincerely,

Benjamin Alair
  Governor of Highwind Point

Sewer Project

With spring coming upon the city, the Vizier of Building, Blusa, has been feverishly working away with many designs, trying to meet the demand for both housing and serious civil projects.

The town of Highwind Point's growth has been phenominal; and the needs for the design have led to the development of a sewer system capable of keeping the town's waste flushed away off far into the sea. The unique design incorporates rerouting a portion of the Venus Creek through the sewer system, underneath the permafrost level, and then routing the outflow out into the ocean downcurrent of the fishing grounds. The constant-flush system intended to prevent the buildup of detritus and Goops/Slimes inside the sewers, and also to allow the spawning runs of the fish to proceed without interruption.

The present major needs of this project are massive amounts of Concrete, and skilled consultancy labour.

This project begain in Titan, 1027 AH.

Civil Public Quarry Safety Improvements

The safety of the Civil Public Quarry still not enough for Blusa, he's ordered further safety improvements done for the quarry, to help contain and prevent lifestream leaks. The present major needs of the project are Gears, Rope.

This project began in Shiva, 1026 AH. It is still in progress.

Healing House Wall

This handsome Marble wall was completed in Titan, 1027 AH. It bears an inscription of date and Mason's Guild, with the carved reminder: "There is no wealth but lives." A donation from the Masons Guild.
