After playing their own part in the outright obliteration of the rogue, heretical army when the Esper Forest was attacked, supervising the guerrila activities of a force of rangers during the battle that they themselves had secured the favours of, the twins Hana and Kibou settled into the peaceful and relatively prosperous life the battle had ushered in for most of the forest. Of course, they often left the forest to follow up news either of their father Reson, for whom they were still searching, or simply to go on one of Kibou's 'adventures' or visit their ageing mother, now firm in the belief that - though they remained Wardens and seemed uninterested in higher positions - the home forest was well and truly safe and thus could stand without their help in protecting it occasionally. The twins' peaceful life as Rangers and Wardens continued for several years in fact, although it soon became a curiosity of the forest that their Half-Esper body was refusing to show signs of aging past the maturity they had reached prior to the first time Hana had 'come out' all those years before. They even continued to live in that funny patchwork tent of theirs by the lakeside.
However, by the time Hana and Kibou had reached the numeric age of twenty-four, in spite of their stubbornly seventeen year-old form - or perhaps because of it - the twins were starting to become restless. Oh, the two of them certainly recognised the nature of their idyllic homeland and its importance, the problem simply was that due to that very nature nothing ever seemed to really change; although of course as two of the forest's most staunch traditionalists, they were hardly about to let it become different anyway. And eventually, spurred on by stories that bore resemblance to their father's nature at various ends of the Empire, the twins approached her Majesty, Queen Emerald daughter of Eve with the news that they would, for now, become errant from their position as Wardens and be leaving the Esper Forest for an indefinite period to quest after their father once more.
The request granted, Hana and Kibou immediately set out to resume the wandering, vagrant life they had lived prior to joining the Esper Court, their search allowing them to cover about as much of the Empire as could be in only three years. Now, ten years after the Esper Forest was gifted with lasting peace, the twins make their way North on the trail of yet another rumour that may have been the presence of their father. Quite badly harmed by a storm during their flight across the sea however, their arrival at Highwind Point is marred somewhat by their seriously exhausted - although not fatal state.
