Great Northern Scar

The Scar, situated within the Northern Crater, was closed off in the farthest north by a large group of adventurers at the end of the war with the Shades. It was the source of these beings, manifestations of Gaia's nightmares, bleeding them out to bring suffering and destruction across the face of the planet. The adventurers closed this gaping wound bringing an end to the long war, and with it an end to the Night of Tears, the evil nexus which had for hundreds of years plagued the world's people. Over the wound was raised by the heroes a great, fruit bearing Mana Tree, sister to the giant Mana Tree that stands bastion over the Esper Forest to the far south, just as this tree would watch over and aid the healing of the scar.
