Half Esper
From SCross
PC Archetype, not for monsters.
Description: Either as perfectly normal people, or luminous beasts of magic.
Additional Info: In order to create a Half-Esper PC, a player must sacrifice 75 of their retirement jp (amount found under +register) to create the new Half-Esper pc. The 75 retirement JP are not factored into the amount of JP transferred to the new character and are not refundable in the case of the Half-Esper PC's death or retirement.
Advantages:
Elemental Skill: All Half-Espers have a selection of five magics they're good at. These may or may not be in any particular theme, sometimes they're completely random. At first tier, gain the first component/special at five. At every tier gained after that, add the next special special/component at five, and increase existing specialties by three. Continue with each tier gained until all are twenty-five.
Spirit Kinship: Gain 10 in spirit-Speech
Esper Form: For an expenditure of five MP and a defensive action, a half-esper may change from mundane to exotic trappings. This form of power is stable(It doesn't change between changes). While in this state, all magics gain +25% succs and damage. At the end of every round, a +resist must be done. The attack level is four per round(Including the first). When failed, the half-esper reverts.
Disadvantages:
Profitable Death: If slain(By nature or by man), while in esper form, they become magicite. Anyone holding this rock can access your specialties at the rating you've managed to reach in life.
Spirit Nature: All spirit affecting magics affect half-espers at half efficiency.
Half Espers have Atwas, like Espers do. The requirements and timing is different, as half espers don't attain atwas as easily.
1st atwa REQUIRES level 10, and is automatic at 20.
2nd atwa REQUIRES level 20, and is automatic at 30.
Known Atwa reduces these levels by 10.
NOTE: Half esper atwas are entirely a mystery until they take their first one, since half espers have no easily detectable aspect.
Rarity: Rare
Known Homeland: None
