Leviathan
The lord of Life, Master of Water, Monarch of the Sea, this mighty spirit is the greater spirit of water is the master of all the others. It is said that all life on Gaia came from the water and that all life and all water comes from Leviathan.
He is a spirit whose temperment is as fluid as the oceans over which he claims dominion. From calm, caring to involatile anger. He has been known to flatten entire cities beneath the roaring wave of his anger, or restore life to a dying child. He dwells within the Deep Blue, his realm of underwater mysteries and deep dark depths and creatures of the abyss. His home is the great coral palace, a spherical structure made up from living coral, one of the great marvels of any world, carried through the depths of the Deep Blue upon the great ocean currents.
It is no easy feat to reach, a summoner trying to reach Leviathans's home must first descend to the level of the oceans where the darkenss of the sea-bed mingles with the last remnants of the light from above. In this watery world of twilight the currents are strong, stronger then any mortal ocean, the traveller must first make sure they are riding the correct the correct current.

The summoner needs at least 5 succs to pick the correct current, if they fail to identify the correct current they will be pulled away from the palace are lost within the boundless darkness of the abyss and will be washed out in a realm of the Judges' choosing.
If the summoner is able to pick a current that leads them to the Palace they must make swimming checks to be able to stay on the right path and reach the palace entrance. They need at least 4 succs to get to their destination and they must make 4 of the checks.

The interior of the palace is a marvel of living coral but the currents come out in a huge chamber. A chamber where Lord Leviathan himself resides curled around a mighty pillar that rises from the vast salt water lake.
Leviathan however is not really one to accept guests or uninvited intruders to his home. Leviathan is reverred in Wutai, the people of Wutai worship and hold him in the highest regard, it is on Leviathan's word that the Mandate of Heaven is held by the Emperor of the far western country.
Recently however Leviathan was captured, summoned by the Master Summon of Wutai the Emperor used a powerful mind control device, the Conformer of ancient ledgend to fog Leviathan's thoughts and hold him imprisoned. For 2 years Leviathan was cut off from his realm, with him missing the waters of Gaia's oceans began to recede, the magic that is so intricately bound with the lord of water was dying, bleeding away into the void and no-longer being renewed.
When Leviathan was finally freed as rumour would have it by a band of Valente adventurers he washed the city of Wutai away, a tidal wave that devastated the capitol of Wutai. The great lord of water then retreated to his realm, severing all pacts with mortal summoners. More recently Leviathan publicly decreed Seki-Un Emperor of Wutai, restoring at long last the Mandate of Heaven and ending the 15 year Civil War in Wutai, many people have taken this as a sign that Leviathan may once again be turning his thoughts towards mortals, it is said that the Master Summoner Jiraat Ar'chania of Santa Meringia has pacted the Lord of Water, but no one has yet reported anyone else as having taken the journey to his home.
