Overview

The Mason's Guild is (at present) a charitable organization, an equivalent of Habitat For Humanity; individuals who are banding together for both resources and time to build homes and community projects. Members are strictly forbidden from selling contributions of materials for profit; they are instead expected to put those resources to good use, splitting half of their effort between building for the city, and the other half for building for Mason's Guild members, to ensure all have a home. It is expected that eventually, as members continue to grow and houses are built, the Mason's Guild will eventually expand outwards to building for-profit; but for now, the leadership (such as it is; it seems to be run by general consensus without need for hierarchy) is focused on the more immediate goal of ensuring enough homes for everyone.

Membership Pact

The Mason's Guild pact for members is simple: Provide enough browsweat, effort, and materials, and you will not only be helping to build your own town and homes for others, but members will also build a home for you. So far, Javris, the first member who signed on after Blusa formed the Mason's Guild, has seen this pact realized; his house is built, for him and his mate Skylia.

Organizational Developments

The Mason's Guild may apply for an 'official' guild status or merge with the Merchant's guild, especially as Blusa himself is beginning to turn the guild for profit, as more commercial needs of the city arise.

Some are noting that the Guild's attitude is one unafraid of fair criticism and compliment towards noble houses and the powers that be. Certainly the Mason's Guild is, at present, stirring uneasily under the yoke of taxes that they feel serve only to rob the general populace of badly needed materials.

No fee is to be charged for adding a home onto the Future Projects list, provided the individual requesting it pitches their efforts and resources for the Mason's Guild and the city.

Accepting members

Yes! Anyone wishing to join the Mason's Guild need only contact Blusa. As a member, you'll donate your resources and time to building for the city and Mason Guild members, and in return your name will be added to the Future Projects list to provide you a home as well. Ongoing support and efforts are expected until such time as the city and Guild members are self-sufficient enough that charitable status is unnecessary.

Present Guild Instructions

Guild members, please spread the word, invite those with the appropriate skills to join with us. Remember to stress that our materials and labor are charitable; we do not charge for making someone a home, nor for city projects, and we don't forsee that changing until the city and it's populace are in much better shape. If you have excess materials, please send them to Blusa, he will be able to distribute excess materials to other skilled workers to contribute to projects. Please, ensure that each and every one of us pulls our weight, so we can all have homes!
