Mer
From SCross
Description: Half human/half sea creature beings whose looks vary between nearly entirely sea creature to very human and all in between... and who can 'shed their skins' for periods of time to dwell on land.
Advantages:
Adaptive Lungs: Mer are able to breath both on land and under the water with no difficulty.
Alternative Form: All Mer have a land based form that they can slip between. When they switch though they end up with a trinket (an article of clothing or jewelry).
Water Bound: Due to their life under the oceans gain +15 Water-Affinity.
Magically Inclined: Many Mer are spell crafters and gain +3 Magery at chargen.
Disadvantages:
Sea Legs: Since they're more used to swimming rather than walking Mer find it a bit difficult to move on land. While landbound -all- difficulties are +2.
Weak to Lightning: Lightning attacks do double damage.
Trinket Bound: Similiar to Material Dependant.. if their trinket is stolen while on land they are unable return to the ocean until they have it again. Additionally all difficulties on land gain an additional +1 (for a total of +3) due to the strain of it's loss.
Homeland: Lautan (City under the Sea) Rarity: Very Rare on land, Uncommon in the ocean. ( Considered Rare for Pure Blood purposes. )
