One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Often we don't get a second chance at our lives. Yet there are those who do, at least in a way.
Ryoichi had lived his life, while many would consider it well. Due to odd decisions of fate, he ended up as the leader of the mages guild. The previous one having disappeared, and he was put into assistant guildmaster position. After a year of running it the council agreed that he could continue as a formal guild master. For the next 8 years, he spent most of his time making a new name for the guild. Many recognizing and respecting the mages guild after such time, watching it hover in the sky above the capitol city.
Yet even still life wasn't all easy going or without strife. Years of being copped up in a office and running administrative and political intrigue he decided to grab some of the newer and older members as well as anybody else wanting to go and explore a dungeon near the capitol. After at least four levels of exploring they came across a odd pit. Yet we all know how the young are, always eager to show off their skills. A couple of young students wanting to show off their earth skills cause a small quake, which for Ryo was not the best thing as he was standing near the edge of previous said pit.
How far he fell nobody may know, yet when he landed it was into water. Climbing his way out he was a changed man. The water he fell into having a odd twist, making somebody younger, but by taking back time. He stepped out like the man he was ten years ago. His memories gone, his knowledge gone, just the simple boy from a farm he was before.
"Where the hell am I?" Looking around at the dark cave. Lucky for him he wasn't alone, and the help that was there, a old dungeon dweller guided him to the exit. Making his way back to the city he was in for a very large shock. Ten years of his life removed. Finding out who he was and what he was doing, he simply couldn't go back. What he wanted to achive had been lost to him. Giving a rare chance to fix that he decided to leave the capitol heading out to start anew...yet again.
