Archetype, you know what it is!

Description: The spirits, greater mostly, but occasionally the lesser, seek to influence the world without directly extending their reach into the dizzying and confusing realm of mortals. When a mortal perishes, if they are strong of heart and powerful of spirit(And have lots of XP), the spirit realm examines them as they pass. If their tempermant matches a spirit seeking an avatar, they may be diverted away from the lifestream, and given a new purpose and body.

Advantages:

Spirit Incarnation: At 200 sacrificed JP and every 300 more, you gain one significant ability tied to the basic nature of your spirit patron. Every advantage should be a tad more powerful than the one before it. Staff discretion.

Elemental Guard: If your spirit patron has a clear element, you gain +50% resist vs it, and complete immunity to non-magic forms of it(Heretical items count as magic, beware).

Disadvantages:

Dead: This template can only be taken by dead characters.

JP Sacrifice: JP must be sacrificed, and only JP remaining -after- retirement calculations can be used.

Lost Mind: Your old 'self' is lost when your body passes on. The spirit creates a new body, but uses your old soul. While your past life might be noticable to a phoenix order priest, it is of little importance to you now. You're a new person, with a new life to lead.

Spirit Touched: Spirit affecting abilities work on you at half effectiveness.

Marked: You are forever marked by your patron, and other spirits can feel this. Allies will react on friendly terms and enemies will automatically dislike you. If you become a summoner, you can only pact spirits that are somehow aligned with your patron, and under no circumstances can pact your patron's enemies.

Rarity: Unique

Homeland: Any
