Temple

Backstory
The history of the man only known as Temple isn't one that's often talked of. A shroud of mystery lays over this young man's past and when asked he's often capable of shifting the conversation to better topics. The few he has opened up to know only a spattering of what lays on the trail his feet left on his way to the frigid North.
What is know of the young teenager is that his parents were once employed or active within the capital of New Junonsburg and left the large city life to retire in seclusion in a small farming community far from any major city.
Temple's arrival in Highwind point in the Winter of 1025 was a quiet affair. How he made passage on the airship wasn't told and the Captain was glad to be rid of him. At first glance to most people, Temple seems rather innocent perhaps a bit uneducated or had a sheltered upbringing. Underestimated and often ignored, the young man uses these traits to partake of his favorite hobby of watching people interact.
Physical Appearance
Temple is an average human, standing five-foot eight with a weight that could be guessed around 150 to 180 pounds. People could say he's good-looking in the face. He has dark blue eyes that look at the world with an awed view. Brown hair sweeps back off his forehead and then parts gently down middle pushing his hair to the side where it comes to rest at his jawline before he tucks it back behind his ears.
Temple strikes a lean silhouette when he relaxes and stands with a hand on the pommel cap of his sword, a very adult like stance for a boy that appears to be just coming out of his teen years, perhaps around 17 or 18. His body's build falls into the lean and muscular average of someone who trains regularly or includes a lot of physical work in his day. His choice of clothes, often a cotton tunic in earth colors with a pair of breeches or plain pants that fit his frame well. Lastly, he wears a pair of calf-high boots that he keeps his pants tucked into. A wide black belt wraps around his waist and a well oiled black scabbard hangs off his left side with the hilt of his plain-hilted mythril sword resting against his side.
When Temple is armored he can be seen clad in an iron beastplate with the Whitehand crest upon the breast on the left side of the breastplate. A simple helm made of fur protects his head and he forgoes the comfort of a pair of bracers for a sturdy unadorned iron shield which he keeps strapped to his back ready for use.
Present Status
Temple was only in Highwind Point a short time before he fell under the eyes of Gabrielle Whitehand. What she saw in him he's never asked but he followed the woman he was quickly enamored with into her home and accepted a job as a simple armsman within her home. From there he met the Whitehand blade Faruza who sometimes serves to advise the young man.
While his relationship within the Whitehand household is that of an armsman he was slowly able to earn the trust and respect of the Lord and the Lady, finding himself promoted to Knight Captain of their household Rune Knights.
Temple continues to watch the life of the Lady with a distant adoration while most of his relationship to the nobles is through the Lord Gabriel Whitehand. Temple is confident with the trust placed in him and often finds himself not only acting as sometime trainee with the Rune Knights, learning to become a Knight himself, but occasionally working as a set of eyes and ears for the House.
In the summer of 1026, Temple was introduced to the young Alair noble, Lady Aithne. He keeps a polite yet close friendship to the young woman whom he enjoys spending time with serving as sometime trainer to the young woman and friend for when then young woman needs someone to listen and others will not.
Summertime has not proven a disappointment to Temple. With the untimely death of his friend Leon, he found himself requested from the grave by his friend to take up the mantle of Governor of Highwind Point. A shortlived exercise in city management, Temple was replaced in just a few days by Lord Lothar DuChalis, sent by order of the Emperor. While this could have been a break in self-confidence for the young man he proves to be resilient and not allow his confidence to be shaken, with the decision by the new Governor to keep Temple on as an administrative assistant he's eager to witness a new turning point for the colony firsthand.
