The Dungeon

The dungeon, thought to be a place of magic and chaos, is something far worse, far more.. insidious.

History

First spotted shortly after Holy, the Dungeon is in fact a great organism that spans across the universe itself, reaching out and locating planets with sentient life. Insatiably curious, it adopts, integrates, and assimilates all cultures, languages, and species that it can come into contact with.

In 1015 AH, The Dungeon pacted a deal with Gaia herself, fueling her with some portion of its vast power to invigorate her and bring her to full awareness. In return for this, the Dungeon is now free to all of Gaia's resources as it sees fit.

It is important to realise that the Dungeon is called to spiritual and mental activity. The dungeon appears where souls of importance gather. As the activity slid from the capital in 1015 AH and came to Highwind Point in 1025, the Dungeon arrived with them, as if it had always been there, waiting..

Dungeon Dwellers

Its residents, 'Dungeon Dwellers', range in personality from calm to psychotic, often in the space of a week. Most dwellers remain within the dungeon for the entire life, existing as limbs, eyes, and other organs for the vast creature they are part of.

The dungeon is incapable of reproducing internally. Its sub-bodies, the dwellers, must interact with outside bodies(Up dwellers), forcing, coercing, seducing, or simply offering. The results can then be brought into the dungeon and assimilated into the whole, adding to the ever expansing mass of experiences that the Dungeon has at its disposal. So far known, Dwellers are immortal while within the dungeon. Even atomization is but a minor inconvenience within the subjective reality of the Dungeon.
