The wandering swordsman and Imperial Army Captain named Louis, the boy who had been contested over by the Greater Spirits for the goodness of his soul, slipped into a quiet life after his military career. Taking several grievous wounds during an ambush on the Western Continent, the young swordsman had been shipped to Kalm to recuperate within the hospital. During this time of recovery, Louis had come to a form of inner peace with his demons. No longer did he feel the need to conquer and create power to fill the vast emptiness in himself.

The limberness of his sword arm plagued Louis as he continued to eke out an existence in Kalm doing various bodyguard jobs, the ligaments damaged in from the attack. It was during this time that he came to fall in love with the daughter of his employer, Belinda. Their romance blossomed into the stuff that romance novels were written from, and soon the young swordsman and the young noblewoman were married.

Three years after his marriage to Belinda, and one miscarriage, having saved enough money from all the assignments he had taken as a bodyguard, Louis opened his own school of fighting to train others in the same sword style that he had learned as a boy. Within weeks of opening his school of sword mastery, his wife had given birth to a healthy baby boy named Alexander Cyrus.

The true vision of a happily ever after story, Louis spent many nights looking to the southwest, toward the Capital as he stroked the golden ring on his necklace, remembering the silver haired woman it belonged. She, too, had a family and lived happily ever after like him.
