Tonya

Tonya is a beaver animal kin that moved to Highwind Point after her family was killed by snakes. Big snakes! Anyway. She came here to get herself to have a new start. She joined House Skye as a gatherer. She hunted, mined, fished, and gathered herbs.
She initially met and married Zhelth in a native wedding but he was killed the next day for going nuts. It was due to a evil crystal he had or something. You know those evil crystals. Either way this made her angsty for a while.
After the Church Knights started giving her a little difficulty over the fact that her marriage to Zhelth had not be 'approved' by them, she became depressed and started drinking, and later came to beleive that she had lost her child from Zhelth due to this which made her more depressed. In an effort to make up for this she was assigned penance and also joined the priests as a Circle member.
Later she had a strange thing happen. She was with someone when they died of lifestream poisoning. This was Saber. But when he came apart she got wrathed to have his full memories. This also made her feel his affection for Sunstreak which now makes her protective of this person.
After this she continued living as a circle member for some time before she allowed the enchantment that kept her part of the Circle to run out. She dated Kezu for a while, but this did not work out due to his common absences. When Lady Kildea Skye came up missing, she did a lot to comfort Lord Rikin Skye, and though she dated about she eventually ended up marrying him, making her a noble Skye as well. Upon request, as she had been doing most of the House work while he was on an extended away, Tonya was given the official head of the House by Rikin.
After the Bishop Abel was killed by the knight Karma, she also rose to lead the priests. This was done with reluctance as she had always avoided promotions in the Church for fear that she would not do well. She took the position only because there was no one else available at all, and thus is very open to hand the responsibility to another worthy party in the future. Between this, trading, and House Skye she was bound to be more overworked than she wished.
Eventually she appointed Porterhouse to be Bishop in her stead and concentrated on her construction duties. She voluntarily demoted herself to entrance level as a faithful engineer, and began her slow but long overdue training as one.
Briefly House Skye was made monarch of the city and she was promoted to Duchess herself. This did not last long as a violent takeover occured by one Kefka. This was a set back for her in more ways than one. Her husband Rikin went into hiding, and all the construction projects in the city halted putting her usefulness on hold. Left with nothing to do, much of her income other than taxes were filtered into various private projects. Some of these were no doubt related to resistance groups but she kept herself without knowledge of what she was funding so that she could not be questioned on it. All her funding was given thro third parties so that it would not easily be traced to her.
